36 Main Street is a pre-Revolutionary three-story colonial house, built circa 1760 as a schoolhouse, has been used as a private residence since the 1790s. Its many charming, historic features remain intact. Wide-board flooring and wall paneling, fireplaces, wrought-iron hardware, and so forth. Just a few steps out the door are Front Beach and Rockport’s many fine shops, galleries and restaurants. Recreational challenges abound, as do opportunities for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation in the Rockport and Cape Ann.
One guest apartment is available. The rental apartment is completely separate, occupying the third floor of the house, with private entrances, living/dining room, bedroom, bath, kitchen, and deck overlooking the gardens. This rental apartment is fully furnished. The kitchen is equipped for cooking and serving meals. A small outdoor grill is available. Also included are TV and WiFi.
The apartment has one bedroom with a double bed. Children can be accommodated, depending on age, either in your portable crib or with our inflatable mattress. This apartment has a rear deck with patio table and chairs, with umbrella for relaxing and dining.
