Set directly on a rocky shoreline, Captain’s House will give you that home-away-from-home feeling, with spacious living room with fireplace, comfortable furnishings & spectacular water views.

The Captain’s House is conveniently located just a mile and a half from the center of Rockport. It is a few hundred yards across the water from Straitsmouth Island, an Audubon bird sanctuary with a single lighthouse. There is also a clear view to Thacher Island to the South with its unique twin lighthouses.

A continental breakfast is served on the sun porch overlooking the ocean. Each of the five bedrooms and five baths is tastefully decorated.

The Captain’s House Inn is normally open from mid-March to early November. The house was built in 1910 as a private residence with possibly the best scenic views in Rockport. It has been an inn a couple of times in its history, continuouly since 1966. The house retains almost all its period features and all the bedrooms have an ocean view. Our rates include a continental breakfast which is served on the sun porch with spectacular views of the ocean.

We are easy to reach by car and Rockport also has a good rail service from North Station in Boston.

We have free wireless broadband internet access and children are welcome.
