The Friends of Halibut Point State Park and DCR’s Halibut Point State Park staff invite the community a Grand Re-Opening Celebration: Summer Evening by the Sea, scheduled for Thursday August 4, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Halibut Point State Park.

This special event will celebrate the completion of renovations to the parking area, the ADA compliant entrance path, and the ADA compliant Visitor Center. New museum- quality exhibits at the Visitor Center feature WWII and later military use of the site, quarrying industry history, and nature at the edge of the sea.

The event includes an open house at the Visitor Center and music performed by local Rockport band Headlands. Food and ice cream will be available for purchase.  Bring a blanket or a beach or lawn chair and enjoy a summer evening by the sea. Please note that alcoholic beverage are not allowed in Massachusetts State Parks.
