Children’s Activities, Santa’s Arrival by Lobster Boat, Photos with Santa, and Tree-Lighting Ceremony
December 3 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pmFree
Join us for the return of this cherished Rockport tradition. We invite you to spend the day in Rockport, with traditional church fairs in the morning, children’s activities and crafts from 11 AM to 1 PM in Fellowship Hall at the Baptist Church, and great shopping at our community’s fine shops and galleries all day long.
Santa will arrive at T-Wharf on Rockport Harbor on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 1:00 PM, following a brisk lobster boat ride across Sandy Bay.
Then Santa and Mrs. Claus will proceed along T-Wharf and Broadway to the First Baptist Church, led by a Rockport Forest Fire truck and local Cub and Brownie Scouts. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be able to linger a while to visit and have photos taken with the children in the church hall until the Tree Lighting Ceremony begins.
Then Santa will ascend the platform with Mrs. Claus to greet the crowd and kick off the Tree Lighting festivities, before they climb onto the fire truck to begin their return journey to the North Pole.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony will get underway at 4:00 PM welcoming Santa and the public at the tree in Dock Square with the Dock Square Singers singing carols and a stirring rendition of “Christmas in Rockport”.
The Chairperson of Rockport’s Select Board will offer official greetings from the Town and then this year’s Rockport Christmas tree will be lighted for everyone to enjoy all season long.
