On August 29th on Stacy Boulevard a special American Liberty Elm tree will be planted and dedicated. This tree was made possible by the Elm Research Institute of Keene, NH due to a grant awarded to the Boulevard Improvement Committee and BSA Troup #112. At a later date, a bronze plaque will be placed by the tree recounting the history of the Liberty Tree, an American elm that was the rallying place for the Sons of Liberty in the American Revolution. John Feener, an employee of Bartlett Tree Experts, a firm in business for over 100 years, understands the importance of re-establishing the American Elm into the landscape and has offered his services as event coordinator. Questions can be directed to John at 978-283-9869.
