On Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 7:15 pm, Cape ann Community Cinema will present “GREENHEADS, The Movie” at Gloucester Stage Company, 267 E. Main St. “Greenheads” chronicles the short, violent life of Cape Ann’s most savage beasts, the Greenhead flies of the coastal marshes. The dramatic story of the remarkable life cycle of the rulers of the marsh is brought to life through the fantasy artwork of Sam Holdsworth, the narration of filmmaker Gordon Baird and the music of JS Bach. The art is beautiful, the story compelling and the end tragic, naturally. The cost is $5 and the filmmaker’s share will go to the Matteo Russo Fund to aid in the Patriot disaster. Ticket price also includes a second short art film and a talk back with Baird. The author will also unveil the newest Greenhead painting, previously unseen, a portrait of Mr. Baird – as a greenhead – in his boat by the painter. For more info, call 978-282-1988.
