What Would Have Happened If the First Lady and the Infamous Intern had a Chance Meeting Before the Scandal Broke?

Gloucester Stage proudly opens the 2007 season of professional theatre with the New England premiere of Yvette Heyliger’s ‘Hillary and Monica: The Winter of Her Discontent’ from May 25 through June 3 in the air-conditioned comfort of Gloucester Stage at 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA.

This witty, history making, re-telling of an all-American uproar considers what would have happened if First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton and Monica Lewinsky, the infamous intern, had a chance meeting before the scandal broke. The play also takes a look at the evolution of the role of the First Lady in the White House as well as the age old problem of infidelity which affects first ladies from all walks of life. Directed by the playwright. Ms. Heyliger, the cast of Hillary and Monica: The Winter of Her Discontent. features Gloucester native Heidi J. Dallin as Hillary Clinton, Jacqueline Kristel as Monica Lewinsky, Vanessa Shaw as Betty Currie and Jeff Pierce in the dual roles of the Secret Service Agent and Bill Clinton.

The performance schedule for Hillary and Monica: The Winter of Her Discontent is Friday, May 25, Saturday, May 26, Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday matinees on May 26 and June 2 at 3 p.m. and Sunday performances on May 27 and June 3 at 5 p.m.

Following the 5 p.m. performance on Sunday, May 27, audiences are invited to a free post show discussion with Yvette Heyliger and the Gloucester Stage artists from Hillary and Monica: The Winter of Her Discontent.

A limited amount of discount tickets are available to Cape Ann residents for the 8 p.m. performances on Friday, May 25 and June 1. For these performances only, Cape Ann residents can purchase half price tickets for $17.50. Advance reservations are strongly suggested to ensure tickets at the discounted price Year round Cape Ann residents must identify themselves as Cape Ann residents when making a reservation and proof of residency must be presented at the box office the night of the performance.
