Scottish fiddling champion Calum Pasqua appears in concert at the Annisquam Village Church Sunday, January 31, at 4:00 PM, accompanied by the acclaimed American Scottish pianist, Susie Petrov. The duo recently released an award for best CD on WGBH’s Celtic Sojourn. Pasqua, who spent childhood summers in Scotland, landed top place in the New England Championship, then took first at the Glenfiddich competition at Blair Castle and, recently, the title of “Fiddler to the Marquis of Huntly. Pasqua’s collaborations with Susie Petrov reveal the historic and artistic nuances of the tunes. The highly resonant space of the historic Village Church is ideal for such music.
