Lars Vogt–the first ever Pianist in Residence for the Berliner Philharmoniker–is one of the top chamber musicians of his generation. First coming to attention when he won second place at the 1990 Leeds International Piano Competition, Mr. Vogt has since gone on to perform globally in major concerto and recital performances throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, and North and South America.
–‘Vogt’can produce gloriously smooth rippling textures, and then mark out a strongly accented theme while the texture continues unabated: the control over dynamic is so good that you hardly spot the transition. When he moves from calm to anguish, it’s like watching a method actor.’
–David Karlin, Bachtrack
‘This was modern pianism at full throttle, with Mozart in the headlights.’
-The New York Times
‘To suppose that he could outplay Pollini would not be a wager I’d have taken, but on this evening, he did, DECISIVELY.’
-The Berkshire Review in London
