Mass Quilts

On Saturday May 19, the Cape Ann Historical Museum will host MASS QUILTS, a state wide quilt documentation project aimed at creating a complete database of quilts made in Massachusetts prior to 1950. Visitors to the Museum on that day will be able to view rarely seen quilts from the Historical’s collection as well as ones from the collection of The Sargent House Museum. While visitors are asked not to bring in their own quilts, they will be able to learn about the proper care and treatment of quilts as well as the important insights they reveal into the lives of the women who created them. The Cape Ann Historical Museum is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and regular admission fees will be charged. For additional information, please call (978)283-0455.
