Cape Ann Historical Museum will be hosting the North Shore’s resident chamber music ensemble, Music at Eden’s Edge, for two weekends this summer in honor of the music group’s 25th season. The first program is entitled, The Sounds of Summer, and will feature works by composers: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Mark Berger, and Gabriel Faur’. The second program, Painting August at Sea, constitutes the premiere of an original work by composer, Howard Rovics, entitled: ‘Journey: A Seagoing Narrative with Music.’ Rovics’ work is inspired by the paintings of world-renowned, nineteenth century Gloucester artist, Fitz Henry (Hugh) Lane, as well as the novel, ‘Two Years Before the Mast’ by Richard Dana. Cape Ann Historical Museum holds the preeminent collection of Fitz Henry (Hugh) Lane’s paintings. Gloucester native, Michael McNamara, will provide narration. In addition to Rovics’ piece, works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Roberto Sierra and other composers will be performed. Both programs are admission free, but do require reservations. The Cape Ann Historical Museum is located at 27 Pleasant Street in Gloucester. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturdays from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Museum is closed during the month of February, on Mondays and on major holidays. Admission is $6.50 for adults, $6.00 for seniors, and $4.50 for students.
