2010 Nights on the Neck

evenings of gallery receptions and entertainment

Thursday, June 3, 5-9 pm

we will feature:

* Three Sheets to the Wind

The Schooner Adventure organization spawned Three Sheets to the Wind, a group of local musicians and Adventure crew members who are preserving the history of maritime work songs (chanteys) and forebitter songs.

* Michael Kirsch/Ed Spilllert

Mike Kirsch and Ed Spillert (guitar, five-string banjo and vocals) will do a range of country, blues, bluegrass, and rock.

* Chick & Ellen

A Gloucester fisherman and his Brooklyn-bred bride play oldtime and newfangled blues, folk, country, and swing tunes.

* Steff Deschenes

The Ice Cream Theory is ice-cream guru Steff Deschenes’s charming exploration of the parallels between human personalities and ice-cream flavors, a tongue-in-cheek celebration of the variety inherent in a well-lived life.

* Gloucester Area Astronomy Club

The friendly folk of the GAAC will set up their telescopes on Rocky Neck, give out observing guides to any passersby who take an interest, and help them pick out things of note in the night sky.
