On Saturday, June 13 at 8 pm, the Cape Ann Museum and Rockport Music join together in a special collaboration highlighting Art and Music which will include a performance by the Boston Trio of two U.S. premieres by British composer Sally Beamish. The two works will be enhanced by a presentation of images inspired by the ocean’The Seafarer with works by British artist Jila Peacock and La Mer with paintings by Fitz Henry Lane, part of the permanent collection of the Cape Ann Museum.
The Boston Trio is acclaimed for its superb sense of ensemble and wondrous balance. The members are also virtuosic and profound musicians committed to creating exceptional and daring performances, who perform both as soloists and chamber musicians, as well as serve on faculties of the New England Conservatory, the Boston Conservatory, Harvard University and MIT.
The concert is at the Shalin Liu Performance Center and a pre-concert lecture will be hosted at 6:30 pm, led by the Cape Ann Museum curator Dr. Martha Oaks and Dr. Elizabeth Seitz, Boston Conservatory faculty member.
