Week One (June 3-5)
The Festival kicks off triumphantly with an Opening Night performance by the Parker Quartet and legendary pianist Menahem Pressler. The much-anticipated pairing will deliver a program of Haydn, Bart’k and Dvo?’k.
On Saturday night the acclaimed percussion ensemble NEXUS takes center stage with their take on compositions by Steve Reich. The quartet, who the New York Times calls “the high priests of the percussion world,” play an extensive and diverse range of percussion instruments from all over the globe.
The opening weekend closes with Trio Solisti, an ensemble the New Yorker has called “the most exciting piano trio in America.” With new pianist Fabio Bidini in tow, the trio will perform a program of Beethoven, Libermann, and Brahms.
