Rockport Chamber Music Festival: Week Two

The Festival’s second week begins with the return of the Rising Star series, as violinist In Mo Yang makes his Rockport debut fresh off winning the Paganini International Violin Competition. Themed musical evenings are featured in this week, beginning with An Evening of French Music, which showcases a hand-picked ensemble performing the sumptuous music of Ravel, Debussy and other Gallic greats. A Schubertiade Evening recreates the intimacy and excitement of an early 19th-century Viennese parlor recital. The dynamic violinist Jennifer Koh, who awed Festival audiences two years ago with her solo violin performance of Bach’s Partitas, joins with baritone Randall Scarlata and pianist Shai Wosner for this recital. On Saturday, an intriguing multimedia collaboration with the Cape Ann Museum that showcases the Boston Trio performing two national premieres of composer Sally Beamish. The weekend closes with a concert from the legendary pianist Russell Sherman.
