Rockport Music presents the latest production in the Metropolitan Opera’s HD Encore series: Donizetti’s LA FILLE DU R’GIMENT.

Laurent Pelly’s hilarious production stars two of the greatest bel canto singers. Natalie Dessay is the tomboy of the title and Juan Diego Fl’rez plays the man in love with her, tossing off nine high Cs in his famous aria. Legendary actress Marian Seldes makes a special appearance as the Duchess of Krakenthorp and Marco Armiliato conducts.

Rockport Music is pleased to present high-definition broadcasts from The Metropolitan Opera. Encore Presentations of six popular Met productions will be broadcast in the Shalin Liu Performance Center from September 6, 2011 through October 4, 2011. The 2011-2012 MET Live in HD season features eleven live broadcasts from October 15, 2011 through April 14, 2012.
