Formed in 1977 by students at the New England Conservatory and now featuring singers from the Boston area, the New England Gospel Ensemble will shake the rafters of the Shalin Liu Performance in their Rockport debut. Nine voices strong with the soul, passion, power, and sound of a much larger choir, the Ensemble will bring down the house with such songs as ‘O Happy Day,’ ‘Safe in His Arms,’ and ‘O Love Divine.’ And with the inspirational sounds of the Hammond organ filling the hall, you’ll be tempted to leap to your feet, clap your hands and sing along.
