WINDHOVER DANCE COMPANY TO PERFORM
‘THE ARTISTS OF LANESVILLE’
AT CAPE ANN HISTORICAL MUSEUM ON MARCH 10, 2007
GLOUCESTER—- On March 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. the Cape Ann Historical Museum will present ‘The Artists Of Lanesville,’ a performance by Windhover Dance Company. This original, multi-media dance theatre piece tells the story of four prominent, twentieth century Lanesville artists: Walker Hancock, Paul Manship, George Demetrios and Leon Kroll. ‘The Artists Of Lanesville’ features text by Pat Kane Earle, choreography by Ina Hahn and Carol Burnham, and images of the artwork that inspired the dances. The performance is part of the Museum’s Saturday Showcase series and will take place in the Museum’s Folly Cove Auditorium. This is a general admission, free, family event. No reservations are required.
Funding to support Saturday Showcase has been provided by Horizon Foundation, Inc. and Bruce J. Anderson Foundation. Designed to bring an enriching experience to Cape Ann families, Saturday Showcase focuses on both visual and performing arts with strong connections to local history allowing artists, musicians, storytellers and dancers to share their talent with the Cape Ann community. Visitors are invited to spend time in the Museum galleries following each performance.
The Cape Ann Historical Museum is located at 27 Pleasant Street in Gloucester. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Museum is closed during the month of February, on Mondays and on major holidays. Admission is $6.50 adults, $6.00 seniors, $4.50 students, children under 6 and Museum members are free. The Museum is wheelchair accessible. For more information please call: (978) 283-0455.
