Tour de Rockport is a 3.2 mile Bike-a-thon & Kid’s Fun Bike Tour. The 1st annual Bike-a’thon is to raise money for the Amelia Grace Place playground. Tour de Rockport started with two twelve year old boys, Nate and Patrick, who wanted to organize a bike-a-thon for a charity. They picked the Amelia Grace Place Playground (a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation) because it is a handicap accessible playground in need of repairs. The parents of Amelia Grace Young donated the playground to the Rockport School System in honor of their handicapped daughter who passed away in 2006.

All proceeds from the Bike-a-thon will go to repair the playground and its protective matting. This playground is enjoyed by all and it is an unforgettable experience. Nate and Patrick’s hope is to create a successful event involving exercise and fun for all ages to enjoy. Kids Fun Bike Tour will begin at the playgound and a post race cookout will take place after the Tour de Rockport.
