Understanding Colors For Painting

The question always comes up “What colors do you mix to achieve a desired color?” This workshop takes you from basic color theories to advanced techniques. Topics on color to be covered include: Use of color charts; Primary, secondary and tertiary colors; Tints, shades and tones: Paint pigments; Color values and temperatures; Dependency of a color on its neighbors; and practical applications of color design in your paintings. These topics equally apply to watercolor, acrylic, and oil techniques. To illustrate some of the principles, color images of famous colorist artists will be shown. You are asked to bring a list of the colors used on your palette.

The seminar will take place from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm and will be taught by Ron Straka.
