Where I Live (A Breast Cancer Oratorio)

Where I Live (A Breast Cancer Oratorio), composed by Diane Benjamin, raises awareness and encourages support of those who have been touched by breast cancer. Filled with lyrical beauty and rhythmic intensity, the Oratorio alternates narrative readings with songs performed by Women Singing OUT! and accompanied by a chamber orchestra.

WSO! conductor Claudia Frost, formerly Choral Conductor for the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District, describes Where I Live as ‘urgent and rewarding.’ The message of environmental contaminants as a cause of cancer, combined with the testimony of one woman, representing many, as she manages the emotional trauma of diagnosis and treatment, creates a powerful artistic message.

The November 6 performance benefits Know Breast Cancer, part of the National Breast Cancer Prevention Project. See knowbreastcancer.net.

Ticket Price: $20 general admission.
