2007 Rockport Visitors’ Map and Guide Now Available

The 2007 Rockport Visitors’ Map and Guide has just arrived from the printer and will soon be on display at visitor information centers throughout the Northeast. This year’s guide, a special 80th anniversary commemorative edition, is filled with 106 listings, including local accommodations, restaurants, galleries, and shops, all keyed to a detailed map of Rockport. Also listed are a wide array of local attractions and service businesses, as well as all four of Cape Ann’s whale watching companies. In addition to its map and listings, the 2007 Rockport brochure features scenic Rockport images, a calendar of events, and a beautiful cover from a painting of Thacher Island and the Twin Lights by Rockport artist John Caggiano.

The new guide was unveiled at Wednesday evening’s 80th anniversary annual meeting and dinner of the Rockport Chamber of Commerce, held at the Grand Caf’ at the Emerson Inn by the Sea and attended by a standing room only gathering.

This year, in recognition of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Rockport Board of Trade and in order to meet a growing demand for information about Rockport and its many attractions, the Chamber increased production to 150,000 brochures. The Rockport guides will be placed in information kiosks throughout New England, displayed in area visitor centers and business establishments, distributed to hundreds of Boston-area hotels, attractions, and transportation centers, and mailed in response to inquiries worldwide.

The new Rockport brochures are now available at several area locations. Anyone wishing to obtain copies of the 2007 Rockport Visitors’ Map and Guide is invited to call 978-546-6575, or stop by the Rockport Chamber of Commerce office located at 3 Whistlestop Mall.
