The Sharon Jordan Bahosh solo exhibit sponsored by the Rockport Art association March 2-14 2008, is a collection of seasons and places. Working en plein air, the artist is challenged by the changing elements but is rewarded with one time uniqueness. She truly can touch her subject, feel the mist or be warmed by the sun. All the senses are at play while the artist creates a moment in time.
Sharon is an artist member of the Rockport Art Assn., The Northshore Art Assn., Academic Artist Assn., The Princeton Art Society, The Portrait Society of America and an associate of Oil Painters of America. She has devoted her life to a career in art beginning her first gallery after art school in the 70’s and continues to open her studio to the public to this day. She is an alumni of the Art Institute of Boston and course studied with Daniel Greene and Charlotte Wharton. Sharon works in the open air summers on Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Ann where her most favorite subjects are, the coast and the nearby village. In winter her focus turns to portraiture. Selected awards are The Emile Gruppe Award 2001, NSAA, The Watson Guptail Award 2001, AAA. Collections include public, corporate and private all over the country.
