Our goal this year is to raise revenue to continue to fund our existing programs and workshops as well as develop new and exciting additions to our Community Outreach Programs. Some of the events we have funded this past year include:
Free Community Lecture presented by Art Historian Jim McAllister on Edward Hopper and the Ashcan School
Free Community Lecture presented by Art Historian James Craig on Fitz H. Lane
Evening artist demonstrations throughout the summer, free to RAA members
Outdoor painting instructional workshops by renowned artists
Four Summer Shows
Children’s Summer Programs
Weekly Sketch Groups and Classes
2007 Hollywood Costume Ball
In addition to maintaining these programs, we have exciting new ideas to bring to the RAA this coming year, including:
Marguerite Pearson Traveling Show
A new division of our Community Outreach Program, “Artist Outreach”, which aims to bring professional artists into the Rockport Public Schools for residencies & lecture presentations.
We also are planning a Visiting College Lecture Series for the Spring, in which art professors and art historians from local colleges will give engaging presentations on a variety of art-related topics, appealing to a wide audience and free to the public.
We need your support! This is an exciting and fun way to help us reach our goals, and at the same time have a chance to win original works of art and other unique gift items!
