ESSEX HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND SHIPBUILDING MUSEUM

Join the Essex Historical Society and Shipbuilding Museum in celebrating 300 years of shipbuilding at the upcoming BasinFest 2007.
On Friday evening, September 14th, from 6-8:30 PM, the Museum will host a Flagship Party in the Essex River Basin to kick off the celebration. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beverages while listening to old sea chanteys and stories onboard three dressed ships. Advance reservations are required at $50 per person.
Saturday’s celebration takes place at the Shipyard (66 Main St.) on September 15th, and offers an entire day of shipbuilding activities for children and adults, including Build-A-Boat Contests, Belt Sander Races, a Boat Parade, and demonstrations, along with food and music. BasinFest runs from 10AM to 4PM. Admission is FREE.
