The Cape Ann Community Cinema at 21 Main Street will present on its 20′ inflatable “BlimpScreen” a different free movie at each of this year’s Block Parties in downtown Gloucester. The films are as follows:

Saturday, June 19 – THE SECRET OF KELLS (Sunday, June 20 in case of rain)
Saturday, July 17 – THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING, THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING (Saturday, July 24 in case of rain)
Sunday, August 8 – THE WIZARD OF OZ (indoors at the Cinema in case of rain)
Saturday, August 21 – WILLY WONKA & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY (indoors at the Cinema in case of rain)
Friday, September 3 – CAPTAINS COURAGEOUS (Sunday, September 5 in case of rain)

All shows, which start around 8:30pm, give or take, are free to attend. Anyone who would like to help the Cinema defray the considerable cost can do so by either buying a $5.00 discount ticket to an upcoming movie (which usually cost up to $9.00) or a full-on Cinema membership, which for just $60 includes up to 12 tickets and the right to borrow DVD’s for free from the Cinema’s large library). We promise that it will be a swell time, so bring lawn chairs and a pic-a-nic basket, or buy awesome snacks from us upstairs. And remember, even if it rains, the show is on indoors (and some have additional rain dates) and is still free.
