NEW ROCKPORT VISITOR’S GUIDE COMING SOON
The Rockport Chamber of Commerce, a Division of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, is currently producing the 16th edition of the Rockport Visitor’s Guide (formerly the Rockport Walking Guide) for 2011 and 2012. The new and updated Visitor’s Guide will feature the following:
‘ points of interest, including historic sites, parking areas, rest rooms and public services;
‘ updated listings of attractions, shops, galleries, restaurants, and inns; and
‘ self-guided walking tours throughout scenic Rockport.
The 2011-2012 edition has been completely revised, re-designed, and expanded, and will now include two Rockport maps, one showing the entire town and the other focused on Rockport’s downtown. Featuring new artwork and a new cover design, this brochure has been developed with the collaboration and strong support of Rockport’s innkeepers.
In addition to the new cover art, the maps in this year’s Rockport Visitor’s Guide will have an entirely new look as well. One is a reproduction of the map and artwork created by Les Bartlett for the Chamber’s 1998 Rockport map, which was sponsored by Granite Savings Bank; the other is Mary Faino’s beautiful downtown map which she painted in 2010 for the Welcome to Rockport sign in Dock Square.
Due to growing demand the Chamber will produce 40,000 Walking Guides for distribution in 2011 and 2012, a 33% increase from previous editions. These attractively designed and handy guides will be displayed in area visitor centers, local inns, and in business establishments throughout Rockport, and will be made readily available to all visitors seeking information about Rockport. The Chamber is currently collecting business listings for the 2011-2012 Rockport Walking Guide. The cost per listing is $95 for Chamber of Commerce members and $150 for non-members.
For further information and to secure a listing in the new guide, Rockport business establishments are encouraged to contact the Chamber office at 978-546-6575 by Friday, May 6.
