After an extensive design submission process, the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the unveiling of the top three designs in the Cape Ann License place design competition on April 3. The event will be held from 4-6pm at Cruiseport Gloucester’s lower level and is open to the public free of charge.

The Chamber received over 85 submissions for the contest and after careful thought narrowed down the top three. Attendees will have the opportunity to play a role in selecting the final design by voting for their favorite design at the event. The winning designer design will be awarded $1,000 and the runners up will each receive $250.

Each Cape Ann license plate will cost $40 and the Chamber must collect at least 1,500 applications under Massachusetts law before manufacture and distribution of the plate can begin. All proceeds from the license plate will be used to benefit marketing and promotion of Cape Ann and the Cape Ann communities of Essex, Gloucester, Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Rockport.
