Chapters on a Quarry Wall

Museum presents special programs with photography exhibition

The Cape Ann Historical Museum will offer a variety of special programs in conjunction with Chapters on a Quarry Wall, a new exhibition of photography by Leslie D. Bartlett. All events are free and open to the public.

An Artist Talk and Gallery Walk will be held at the Museum on Saturday, November 10 at 3:00 p.m. Join Les Bartlett for a discussion of his work, as well as a guided tour through the exhibition.

A Quarry Walk with Les Bartlett will take place on Saturday, November 17 at 10:30 a.m. Please meet in the parking area of Old Granite Pier in Rockport, rain or shine. Call the Museum for a reservation at (978) 283-0455.

A Saturday Showcase will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Folly Cove Auditorium. This Shadow Puppet Play by Les Bartlett will depict the world of granite quarrying on Cape Ann.

Chapters on a Quarry Wall is the culmination of eight years of climbing out on quarry ledges at sunrise and sunset to capture the unique light and geography of the region’s granite quarries. The exhibition will continue through January 31, 2008.

The Cape Ann Historical Museum is located at 27 Pleasant Street in Gloucester. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Museum is closed during the month of February, on Mondays, and on major holidays.
