Cruiseport Gloucester Groundbreaking Ceremony

Cruiseport Gloucester will break ground at 6 Rowe Square in Gloucester on Thursday, November 10, at 11:00 A.M.

The public is invited to attend. Frank Elliott, owner of Gloucester Marine Terminal, LLC, which is building Cruiseport Gloucester, will speak along with Massachusetts Senator Bruce Tarr, Gloucester Mayor Bell, Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Mike Costello and others.

A reception aboard the Boston Harbor Cruise ship Bay State will follow.

Mr. Elliott is committed to using Cruise Port Gloucester as a focal point of public access to the working waterfront and wants the people of Gloucester to embrace this project and treat the dock as if it were publicly owned.

Cruise ships will begin bringing people from all over the world to Gloucester in October 2006. By showing the people of the world Gloucester’s working waterfront and giving them access to our artists and shops, we hope to help preserve our heritage as America’s oldest seaport and art colony, while pumping money into Gloucester’s economy.
