Negotiating sharp turns, mud, sprints, hills and hurdles at full speed, for an hour, on a bike – it’s demanding, it’s challenging and it’s humbling – it is CYCLOCROSS!
Olympic, professional and amateur cyclists from across the US, Canada and Europe will be coming to Cape Ann for one of the most highly anticipated races of the cyclocross season.
CELEBRATE 10 FANTASTIC YEARS!
The Erdinger Gran Prix of Gloucester celebrates its 10 th anniversary this year. In 1999, 222 racers competed in the very first race. Over 650 racers are expected to register in 2008. The popularity of the Gran Prix of Gloucester continues to spread throughout Cape Ann, New England, and North America.
Race fans are invited to the Erdinger Beer Garden to sample the world- renowned Hefe-Weizen and Oktoberfest beers as well as Erdinger non- alcohlic. The Erdinger Beer Garden is open from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
IDs are required.
The Gran Prix Expo will feature a food court, cycling organizations and local businesses.
WHEN TO GO
The first race of the day starts at 9am on Saturday and Sunday. The
Professionals (Elite Class) compete from 2:30 to 4:30 on both days.
The Kid’s Race is at 2:00 PM on Sunday. Registration is on the day of the race and FREE! Up-and-coming racers from ages 5 to 12 are invited to compete. Participants should be at the stating line 45 minutes before start time.
The Expo is open Saturday and Sunday. The Erdinger Beer Garden is open from Noon until 6:00 pm on both days.
