The town of Essex will be featured in a new ‘Tour My Town’ series on the CBS Early Show. The segment will air on Thursday, November 17, between 8:00 am and 9:00 am.

Recently, the CBS Early Show announced a new series called ‘Tour My Town’ and requested viewers to submit a letter as to why their town should be featured. Essex resident Ellen Attridge sent a letter encouraging CBS News to visit Essex. Out of hundreds of responses, only Essex and three other towns across America were chosen for the series. In fact, Essex is the only town from New England to be featured.

A camera crew and reporters visited the town in early October, interviewing Ms. Attridge and filming at a variety of locations, including Burnham Boatbuilders, Woodman’s, the Essex Shipbuilding Museum and other scenic and historic places around town.
