First Annual Cape Ann Holiday Gift & Trade Show

The Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a Holiday Gift and Trade Show on Friday, November 3, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Gloucester House Restaurant on Rogers Street in Gloucester. This will one of the first major events to be held there since the recent completion of the new 2,500 square foot function facility. The Holiday Show will spread out over the new and existing function rooms, as well as the Seven Seas Cafe and the connecting wharf areas.

Show highlights will include a retail gift expo, with great ideas to get a head start on holiday shopping, and experts who will provide tips on decorating, catering, and other types of holiday preparation. Fashions, cooking demonstrations, and a wide variety of ‘how to’ presentations will also be featured. There will be rooms full of holiday gift ideas, floral arrangements, indoor and outdoor decorations and much more.

The Chamber will sponsor a holiday wreath-making contest as part of the Holiday Gift and Trade. The handmade wreaths will be judged in two categories, professional and amateur. The wreaths will be displayed throughout the show and must have a holiday theme. They may be made of natural or artificial materials or a combination of both, and should not be larger than 24 inches in diameter. A panel will be chosen to judge the wreaths, and the winner in each category will receive a $50 Gloucester Gift Certificate and recognition in Chamber on-line and print outlets. Cape Ann businesses are invited to compete in the professional category, while all interested individuals are welcome to join the amateur one.

This is a premier event for the Chamber, but its goal is a familiar one’to encourage shoppers to take advantage of the holiday expertise available locally and to showcase the goods and services offered by Cape Ann businesses.

If you have a holiday-related area of expertise and would like to talk about this opportunity to share that knowledge with others, contact the Chamber at 978-283-1601 or
