The Gloucester Daily Times, in conjunction with the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, will be presenting a candidate debate series at the Gloucester Stage Company’s Gorton Theatre on Tuesday, November 1 and Wednesday, November 2. All candidates in contested races on the November 8 Gloucester ballot have agreed to participate. On November 1, the candidates for Ward 3 Councilor will square off at 6:30 pm, followed by the Ward 2 candidates at 7:30. On November 2, the six candidates vying for four Councilor-at-large seats begin their debate at 6:30 pm, followed by the Mayoral debate at 8. Times editor Ray Lamont will moderate the debates and pose the questions. We invite all Gloucester business persons and residents to submit questions for the debates to email@example.com, using the subject line ‘Debate questions’, and we encourage all interested citizens to attend both evenings’ debates, which are free and open to the public.
