I am writing this letter to request your support of the Gloucester High School jazz band, The Docksiders. In April 2008, this talented group of twenty-eight young musicians has the opportunity to travel and participate in a musical workshop and performances in Orlando, Florida. They will be performing at the Magic Kingdom and Universal Studios. This will be The Docksiders third opportunity to perform outside of Massachusetts. In April 2004 The Docksiders were the talk of the Magic Kingdom after their performance at Walt Disney World followed by an equally stellar performance in April 2006 at Disneyland in California.
As you can well imagine, it will take a great deal of money (approximately $50,000.00) to get the band and its directors to this type of event and we are kicking off our fund raising efforts with an auction and concert featuring The Docksiders on April 27, 2007 at the Gloucester House Restaurant. We are very lucky to have as our auctioneer our own State Senator Bruce Tarr and we are planning to have a wide variety of items to offer. That’s where you could come in. Here is your opportunity to pledge your support to these talented young musicians and promote your business at the same time by donating a product, service or other gift to be featured at our auction.
We also have a variety of other ways to support The Docksiders. Again this year, we are planning a sponsor banner. This banner will be prominently displayed at all of our concerts through the summer of 2008. A banner block featuring your company logo is only $350.00. The banner is an excellent way to get your company name displayed at numerous venues around Cape Ann.
Of course you are invited to attend the auction and join us for all of the fun. Tickets for the auction are $25.00 per person and includes a light dinner, the auction and a performance by The Docksiders. A cash bar will also be available prior to and after the students’ arrival and performance.
Thank you so very much for supporting these young, talented musicians in any way you can.
