Waterline Center, Essex Shipbuilding Museum

Back by popular demand! This summer, instructor Rick Eliot will be teaching a one week kayak building course at the Essex Shipbuilding Museum. The kayak design is based on traditional skin covered kayaks used by the Inuit Eskimos.
Students will build their own kayaks, custom-designed to meet their particular interests. The finished kayak is a work of art, ultra light (30lbs or less), durable, and beautiful.
Class runs July 14-19 from 8AM to 5PM. All tools and materials are provided; no prior carpentry skills required. Tuition is $1200. Class size is limited to 6 students and advance registration is required prior to July 1st. The class will be held in the Waterline Center at the Essex Shipbuilding Museum, 66 Main Street, Essex. Call the Museum at 978-768-7541 to register or for more information.
