Local Colors Cooperative Gallery members will be celebrating their 15th anniversary on October 29, 2005 with a reception and refreshments open to the public from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at 121 Main Street, Gloucester, MA (978-283-3996). The members want to show their appreciation for the support that they received over the last 15 years from customers and the community.
The Cooperative began in 1990 by a group of friends who thought it might be profitable to ‘setup shop’ for the holiday season. The group started in what is now Passports Restaurant on Main Street in Gloucester and stayed far beyond that first holiday season. More artists and crafters joined, one-page handwritten by-laws were drawn and Local Colors continued. Membership grew from a half dozen members to a high of about 30. This is their third location on Main Street, moving here after an unfortunate fire at 142 Main Street a few years ago.
The members will have a special exhibit of work on the featured wall to celebrate the anniversary. Please join them to celebrate this very special event.
