‘Rivers and Tides’
seARTS presents Andy Goldsworthy film
The Society for the Encouragement of the Arts (seARTS) will present Rivers and Tides: Andy Goldsworthy Working With Time on Tuesday, March 25 as the premiere of the 2008 seARTS’ Film Series. This visually stunning, award-winning documentary by German filmmaker Thomas Riedelsheimer features internationally acclaimed Scottish sculptor Andy Goldsworthy as he creates, and the elements act on, his work. Goldsworthy’s materials are found in the natural world: ice, stone, leaves, and snow.
The film will be followed by a discussion with architect and public artist Rob Trumbour, a Rockport resident, and architect and landscape architect Mark Klopfer. Both are on the faculty at the Wentworth Institute of Technology and incorporate Goldsworthy’s inspiration in their teaching and work.
The seARTS Film Series is part of a Community/Visitor Education Program funded in part by the John and Abigail Adams Art Program from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, with corporate support from featured sponsor Renco Corporation of Manchester.
Rivers and Tides will be shown Tuesday, March 25 at the Gloucester Cinema, 74 Essex St. (Rt. 133), Gloucester at 6:30pm
Tickets are $7 for seARTS members; $12 for adults; and $9 for seniors and students.
