“Polymer Clay” – Becky Merry
July 7-11
Create marbled effects, miniature objects and unique jewelry from “Sculpey”. Come experiment with this remarkable polymer based modeling clay. 10:00-12:00.

“Garden Sculpture” – Kathy Hilliard

July 14-18
Design your own sundial, birdbath, garden stepping stones and more! Use concrete, beach glass, pottery shards and personal collectibles. Learn a variety of sculpting and decorating techniques – from casting to mosaics. Dress for a Mess! 10:00-12:00.

“Make it Green!” – Kathy Hilliard

July 21-25
Have fun & be kind to our earth! Using found objects, we’ll experiment with the endless possibilities of ways to create beautiful arts, crafts, sculpture & more out of recycled materials. Recycling becomes fun as we learn a variety of sculpting techniques and craft forms! 10:00-12:00.

“Drawing & Painting” – Becky Merry

July 28-August 1
Have fun while learning to develop your drawing & painting skills. Become familiar with the elements of basic drawing, observation, perspective & composition, as well as color mixing and watercolor techniques. Plein air drawing & painting methods will be used with beautiful Rockport as your outdoor studio. 10:00-12:00

“Papier Mache Animals”- Linda York-Robbins Aug 4-8 Sculpt and paint realistic-looking animals using the exciting medium of papier mache! Design your very own colorful creature from start to finish. We’ll experiment and learn different techniques of papier mache as well as decorative painting. Dress for a Mess! 10:00-12:00.

“Art From Around The World”- Kathy Hilliard Aug 11-15 Join us and see the world! Explore the cultures of five different countries! Students will experience the music, folklore, and arts & crafts of world cultures through painting, printmaking, fabric arts, clay and other materials used by each country as we study. 10:00-12:00.

“Hands On Clay” – Erin O’Sullivan
Aug 18-22
Explore the fascinating medium of clay – making vessels to sculpture. Discover how to see and use the elements of art: line, shape, form, texture & color, while learning the basic techniques of working with clay and finishing work with glazes, stains & paint. Students should wear old clothes and bring a large paint shirt. 10:00-12:00.

“Creative Collage” – Joanna Read
Aug 25-30
Discover the endless creative possibilities of collage while learning basic techniques of color, texture, shape & more! Using found objects, photographs, magazines, newspapers & more, we’ll create personal keepsakes & treasure boxes that you can give as gifts, or even take to school with you in the Fall! 10:00-12:00.

The Rockport Art Association is located at 12 Main Street in Rockport, MA. Admission is always free and open to the public. Summer Hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm, Sunday 12pm-5pm.
