“Soils, Fish, Climate and the Gulf of Maine — Strategies for a Sustainable Future:” Presented by James Laurie, Biologist & Seth Itzkan, Pres. Planet-TECH Associates Somerville, MA.

A tripartite lecture on the combined effects of soils on climate stability; the rise of ocean anoxia as a predecessor to extinction periods; and the importance of algae-eating fish, such as menhaden, in controlling estuary eutrophication and ocean “dead zones.”
