The Society for the Encouragement of the Arts (seARTS) will continue it’s very popular Film Series with nationally acclaimed film producer and Series curator Sarah Green for a special screening of ‘Once’, courtesy of Fox Searchlight Pictures and Gloucester Cinema on Tuesday, December 11 at 6:30 pm.
Sundance Film Festival World Cinema Audience Award winner ONCE is the inspirational tale of two kindred spirits who find each other on the bustling streets of Dublin. One is a street musician who lacks the confidence to perform his own songs. The other is a young mother trying to find her way in a strange new town. As their lives intertwine, they discover each other’s talents and push one another to realize what each had only dreamt about before. ONCE is their inspiring story.
Guests are invited to stay for a discussion about music in film directly following the screening. Green will be joined by film composer Mason Daring to discuss music in film. Daring has provided music for such films as: MUSIC OF THE HEART, THE OPPOSITE OF SEX, LONE STAR, THE SECRET OF ROAN INISH, and many more.
Tickets are: $6 for seARTS Members; $12 for Adults; and $8 for Seniors and Students. To purchase tickets or for more information visit www.searts.org or call 978-281-1222. Come hungry, the popcorn at Gloucester Cinema is the best and the concession stand awaits you all!
